Acceptance

By using this site or commissioning a personalized song, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or submit a commission.

Ownership & Permissions

All music, recordings, and site content are owned by What's Your Beat unless stated otherwise. When you receive a commissioned song, Richard grants you a personal, non-exclusive licence to use it for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Songs are created using AI music tools as part of the creative process. Regardless of the tools used, every commission is personally directed, shaped, and delivered by Richard.

What You Can Do

• Download and enjoy your MP3.
• Share your song with friends and family in personal contexts.
• Share official links to your song when available on streaming platforms.

Streaming Releases & Promotion

When you commission your song, you'll have the option to add Global Streaming Submission to Spotify, Apple Music, and other platforms. That choice is entirely yours — opting out keeps your song completely private.

If you choose to release your song publicly, it becomes available under What's Your Beat on those platforms. By agreeing to that release, you're also giving Richard permission to share or promote that song on social media or in other promotional contexts — but only what's already in the public release itself. Nothing from your personal submission will ever be shared beyond what's reflected in the song.

What's Not Allowed (Without Written Permission)

• Commercial use — including ads, marketing, paid products or services, or monetized campaigns.
• Reselling, licensing, or distributing copies as your own work.
• Re-uploading the audio as if you own the rights to it.

If you'd like to use a song commercially, reach out — licensing may be possible with written permission.

Payments & Refunds

Commission payments are processed securely via Stripe at checkout. Because every song is created specifically for you, refunds are generally not offered once work has begun. If there is an issue with your commission — including mispronunciations — Richard will fix it at no charge.

Each month, Richard quietly selects one person from recent commissions and refunds them in full through the Compassion Fund. This is entirely at Richard's discretion and does not constitute a general refund policy.

Disclaimer of Liability

Songs and all related content are provided as-is, without warranties of any kind — express or implied. What's Your Beat is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of this site or any song delivered through it. Total liability in any circumstance is limited to the amount you paid in connection with your commission.

Privacy

The personal stories and contact details you share are handled according to the Privacy Policy. You can request deletion of your data at any time.

Refusal of Service & Conduct

Please use this site respectfully and lawfully. Richard reserves the right to refuse service or remove content if requests are abusive, unlawful, or violate these Terms.

Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Manitoba, Canada. Any disputes arising from the use of this site or any song delivered through it will be resolved exclusively in the courts of Manitoba, Canada.
